Hey, sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you...your comments got buried on my wall quickly by others' ramblings.

I can completely understand your frustrations with trying to decide whether to bump for points or personal tastes (says the guy with a bajillion points, I know...). It's a tough line to walk, no matter how many points you have and especially if your tastes might be more in the electronic or experimental realms (I didn't check your stats, I'm just sayin'), as those don't have as great a following here as the indie/alternative genres do. Early on in my first month or so when I was points-starved, I was more than willing to bump something I might not normally have bumped (ahem, Lily Allen, I'm lookin' at you) in order gain big points to spend on artists I really loved later on.

A couple more tips:
1) Browse>Activity [scan the list for songs that have 'minutes' or 'hours' listed in their First Bumped time...the higher the page they're on, the higher the likelihood of a good points return. I sometimes go back 10 pages.]
2) Instead of waiting for subscription feeds (because they're slow), go straight to your subscribed pages (especially if they're top users - since we have no lives, day or night, we somehow seem to find things early).
3) Blog scrapes (HearYa, Stereogum, PoS, etc.) generally have their songs come through at 12am, 6am, 12pm, 6pm EST.
4) Come join www.maxbumps.net - a the61 fan site batface89 and a few other of us top users spawned a couple months ago for better communication amongst the community, and just another place to hang out and talk music.

Thanks, man. I check Browse>Bumps>max = 0 every now and then (in case you didn't already), and I just keep getting lucky, I guess. Farrow's new track is definitely good...glad I found it since I like a couple of the others even more than that one, now. Between him and The Depreciation Guild, things have been pretty good 'round here the past 2 days.
