Has anyone ever created or suggested creating an addon for Firefox?

It would be great to have a Firefox addon that could behave as a miniplayer so you could navigate through your playlist, change volume, etc. without having to go to the specific browser window each time. It'd also be nice to have the song name / artist appear at least at the beginning of a new song.
