Points lost for moving to another page? | 25 may 08 11:12 a.m.
Just gained a whole bunch of points, then clicked to go to the browse section and about half of them disappeared again. Although they came in in two batches, they weren't duplicates, coz there were different tracks in there.

I've had this happen once or twice, but usually just going to the homepage again fixes it for me.

and it's happened again.... just logged in, gained around 2800 !!! points after some successful bumping last night, clicked away and lost them again. No duplicates and going to the home page doesn't fix it. That's a lot of pints to miss out on.

I get it every day.. I will earn a ton, go to look at new or my profile and they disapear, sometime I think its something I bump, but a 5 point bump shouldn't subtract 520points :(

Are you bumping anything while it is still adding points? If you are getting a large string of points, and then bump something while they're still counting, your points (in the upper right) immediately update to your current total. BUT, the bump counting automation keeps adding to that number - incorrectly showing too many points. Then, if you go to your profile page after the point counting is done, it will go back to your actual point level (which looks like a loss of points).

Not sure if that is even the problem, but I know it is easy to make this mistake. I have done it several times and deceived myself. :)

Yeah I've noticed that as well but I wasn't bumping anything, just watching the points come in because I was curious where they had come from after the upload party. Then when the total had been added, I went to the browse page and the points were deducted again. Exact same thing as happened before.

I've experienced the same thing before multiple times, but figured I did something wrong. I'd be earning several hundred points, and once I went back to the home page, they were gone.

Strange!

It's a "feature" that when you're on your Profile page or whatever you see your total points, then when you go to the homepage it subtracts the recent points and adds them back in with the notifications. Not sure if this is what you meant.

I have noticed that sometimes the site glitches and starts to give you points that already registered. That is, say I had 2000 points, and then earned 500 and got up to 2500. On rare occasion, even after I am at 2500, the popups start giving me the credit again, and the 500 points get me to 3000. I navigate away, and the site resets you to the 2500 you were supposed to be at.

I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, but figured I'd throw in my two cents.

Thanks for all the replies and efforts to help out, but I've seen the above happen before and that's not what I mean.
When I logged in Monday my total was as I left it the night before. Then the points came in, I waited until a total of some 2880 was added (I got some pretty good bumps in during the upload party) . Then when I clicked to go the browse page they were subtracted again. The difference was big enough to register, I'd say. Oh well.

This happened to me today. I logged in, Started playing the rac and switched to my profile. I noticed i was close to reaching a new level. About four points shy. Went back to home page and started to see the points i received while i was logged off. I gained about 100 to 150 points. This would have pushed me to a new level. I switched to my profile before i received a score total. The points were gone and didn't return when i went back to the homepage. I was back to the total when i first logged in.

This was different than the usual drop you see when receiving points you gained while logged off. Then you notice the total drop and the points awarded bring you back to the total you had seen when you first login. This time it bumped my total above what i had seen on my login and then taken them away. I don't feel cheated just confused. (well maybe a little cheated...doh) It's all a matter of perspective.

Maybe we need to do a little troubleshooting on this to see if we can prove that it isn't a non-issue. I think I will try to recreate these results.

It might be impossible to recreate them though, because it is possibly caused by other things (small formula tweaks, rack malfunctions, etc) rather than what you are specifically doing.

Anyway, I'll keep a point log and see if I get any abnormal fluctuations.

This is happening to me, too. But I don't ever keep track of how many points I had when I logged off last time. I do know that I had 25xx points, then bumped one song and lost more than 500 points.

It did tell me that my score had gained something like 1060, which I'm fairly certain would have put me over 3000, because even though I didn't remember my last total exactly, I'm fairly certain that I'd remember if I went all the way back to 1xxx from 2xxx. Oh well.

Heya Sally, same thing happens to me, exactly how you describe. My thoughts are is that this is a Beta version, and I'll just let it be ironed out by the "Powers That Be". ;-) Frustrating, but good too as we are contributing to the betterment of this fab site!

Cheers all!

Or maybe roberge is right... there's a hole... LOL

Re: Points lost for moving to another page? | 13 jun 08 8:43 a.m.
I just watched my points come in adding to 450 and 250 for an achievement level.Total in the beginning was 7339,should have gone to 7906.While the top points score kept rising, the one in my profile didn't.I went to the home page and then back to profile I was back to 7339.This has been going on for days, however this is the first time I was able to catch it.I had over 12,000 points last Friday, and while I bump often,my total should not be this low.In addition ppl are telling me they listen to my radio and count is not going up,and in one case the count actually went down while i was watching.I don't bump while the points are coming in.Arrrggghh!!!
