I've checked this out in three different browsers (IE7, FF3 and Opera) and all seem to do the same thing. When I open up this site and start listening to music it starts off using a reasonable amount of memory but its up to two hundred megabytes or more after an hour or two. If I leave it running eventually it will crash the browser. I'm guessing it has something to do with the flash player not disposing of the previously played songs or something like that. Its pretty easy to see, just let the site play for a while and fire up the task manager and whatever browser process its using will be gobbling up a ton of memory.

Keep a command prompt window open (Start-->Programs-->accessories) and do this periodically: Type in ipconfig/flushdns then hit enter. Also clear your cache once in a while.

You can also restart your computer, but the above stuff usually works almost as good.

Its not a network issue and its isolated to thesixtyone.com website. I looked into the javascript and its loading a SWF object to play all the songs on the site. I'm betting its something in there that is not disposing the songs its streaming properly.

I know what you are talking about and what I mentioned above works for me on a daily basis.

Try it or not. Your choice.

There's also some memory leaking issues going on - which sadly seems to be par for the course for AJAXy websites. Of course, keep in mind that I tend to leave a window open for multiple days at a time, which tends to exacerbate small memory leak problems.
