I'm at level 2 and when I bump a song more than once it gets split up. The original bump I did, and a seperate new bump in my stats page.

But the weird thing is, once today it did work and I managed to bump a song 2x.

I don't know if that explained the issue well enough or not.

If other people are bumping at the same time as you, this can happen. They did a clean up to merge bumps like this… but I think it takes a while to show up.

It will also depend on how fast you're clicking.
I find if there is more than a second or so between bumps they just stay split.

And if it's less than a second, you get yelled at for trying to vote too fast. :/

I multi-bumped "In Color" (Jamey Johnson) a few days ago. The first two bumps were made, I suppose, 5 or 10 seconds apart, but the third bump came about 20 minutes later. All bumps got merged together without problem. However, there were no bumps from other listeners in between. Is that the difference?

I think the current patch allows for bumps up to two people between yours to allow auto-merger. It still fails sometimes, but thus is the way "new" things go.

For reasons related to how we compute bump rewards, we can't merge bumps that are too far apart. Otherwise, early bumpers could have an unfair advantage.

I think it's fair to not merge later multibumps. I did a #5 and then like a week later a #9 that dropped to #5. Why should I get more points than contestant number #6 7 & 8?

OMG!!! Call the bosses of the internet! There's like a whole 3 points at stake here!!!!

And is multibump really a word or should it be hyphenated? We need a glossary page.
