Something to keep in mind:

Clicking ads just to support a site can hurt the people running it - this is considered "click fraud" as you are essentially charging the advertisers without an intention of paying for their products.

Sites with high levels of clicks and low levels of purchases often get penalised if their statistics look disproportionate.

If we users are clicking ourselves without encouragement or coordination by the site it can hardly be considered "click-fraud".

That said, if we click and don't convert, advertisers who track conversions will optimize their buy to other sites. Not really penalizing per se, but the same impact - less income to the site.

So, what can we as users do to help? Check out the musicians featured in the banners -- spend a little time on the promotional sites, engage in their sites. I have been pleasantly surprised by the general quality of the banners (IndieClick banners are definitely better, the Google ones are laughably bad at times). So if an artist is smart enough to support IndieClick and try to talk to us via these banners that SUPPORT the site we, as users should engage their content and encourage advertisers to support sites like t61!
