What began as a lark inspired by fan discussions on a Dresden Dolls community became a way to pass time while bedridden with an injury last January. Some mixes worked well; some not as well. But the entirety of the album Yes, Virginia got an overhaul in the process.

Not having professional equipment nor the raw vocal trackings etc. is a pain, by the way. A girl does what she can with a simple Acoustica program. These were all made for fun and zero profit. Basically, since most basic programs can't yank the vocal lines entirely free, I often do what I call a 'tweaking' mix: expanding on the original and adding an alternate flavour or ambience, usually through a mash-up of sorts. The positive feedback caught me off guard but is much appreciated; it's very easy to 'look good' with bands like the Dresden Dolls doing the hard work of crafting genius lyrics.

I may tinker with the Dolls' other albums, or try other artists as well. I have a few ancient Tori Amos play-mixes about... We'll see.
