The band started out as a small circle of teenage friends out of Camp Verde, Arizona, meeting up
in the lead vocalist, Ameris Shepard's livingroom. With the full intent of "making it all about the kids", says Travis and Jacque Shepard,. Blackout's current manager, they began gaining local credibility, and slowly growing together into the makings of a great band.

They have recorded two original songs together so far: "You", and "Untitled", not to mention their own rendition of a Rolling Stones classic "Paint it Black", all three of which can be found in various places around the internet, sparking incredible amounts of interest both nationwide and worldwide on sites such as SixTeenHole.com, IndieCharts, and OurStage.com.They have their debut album to be release in September. They have also performed both their recorded tracks and their freshly written material in several spots around Arizona, including the Arizona State Battle of the Bands, which they took first place in, and a concert they put on themselves in Camp Verde with another local band, The Chromatics. They are scheduled now for several smaller gigs in the area, not to mention Q-Fest, Camp Verde's first full-length outdoor concert. You will soon be able to find their T-shirts and other merchandise on several places around the web, such as Ebay and even Hottopic.
