June 4:

So I was about to make my 'Birds' album purchasable on here with that new Bazaar system, but I realized that I'd rather just leave several of the tracks as free downloads.

Looks like there's a little 'Tip Credits' thing now. Cool!

Also, just to keep the link on this page: I'm on iTunes HERE.

Yep, I'm still alive - actually, I check this page multiple times a day. Anyway, "Hailey and Sam" is up as of a few hours ago. It's one of the more recent out of my (growing) batch of new songs. Feel free to let me know what you think! Or just say hi or something.

biography
Jim Henrickson is the name of the music project started sometime during 2006 by some guy named, coincidentally, Jim Henrickson. While no one is completely sure, it is generally believed that the project name is at least partially based on his actual name. Clearly, we’re in the presence of a creative genius here. Currently, the ‘band’ consists of the following lineup: Jim Henrickson. Past members include: (nobody). Jim, who is currently working on his Aerospace Engineering major at Texas A&M; University, plays (or kind of knows how to play) an ever-increasing variety of instruments: guitar, mandolin, banjo, keyboard, ukulele, harmonica, accordion, bass, and violin. He likes to think that this solo project is just a way to build up his song-writing abilities while he looks for people to collaborate with, but he also likes to think that Star Wars is real, so… yeah.

His debut album “Birds in the Snow” has been described as ‘beautiful’ and ‘amazing’ by several random people that you don’t know. Jim wishes he could say that is has been praised by such lofty sources as The New York Times, Pitchfork, and Barack Obama, but he is morally opposed to making stuff up. If you happen to be Th... haha thanks. I've nothing else to do, so I've been playing a lot. I took all morning and tabbed Blind Pilot's "Poor Boy" too. So I'm feeling pretty accomplished. glad you liked it, I don't know if I have the skills to take anything past "demo" quality though...
I also have some old hand drums (I don't know anything about them) that I'm gonna play with. and thanks for the feedback btw

ok I had enough time today to get recorded the general idea of what I want the song to sound like. Complete with my own drumming (on my guitar) and special effects (jingling pocket change). I'll email it to you.

Ya I'm between colleges right now so I don't have any school work holding me back.

Now I just have to get a recording I'm satisfied with...

I finally wrote a song I like! I sat down today determined to write something in the spirit of Bon Iver because I can't get over how subtle and amazing his songs are. It's very Iver-esque, it has an opening melody almost just like one of his, and it's basically in honor of him. I think I'll title it "good winter, best wishes."
The song's pretty ambiguous though, so its not limited to being about him at all. Hopefully I'll record/upload it soon!

Thanks for relaying the message, Jim, and for the compliment! I've got a heart for Hailey and Sam and I'll be back with a few more later

I am only now learning the wonders of the capo though. Since I got one that actually works I love it!
Well, I'll play it your way and see which I like better lol
