In high school and college, John was the co-founder and main songwriter for groups such as One Dead Language, Leisure Suit, and Family Function. He co-writes and records with NYC’s/NC’s own, Patrick Frankfort. John's recording credits include the "If We Only Had a Brain" compilation (song - Hate by Design 1995), "The Shame EP" 2005, "A Difficult Spring" 2007, "When Camelot Fell" 2008, and the "Chill Out V2.0: East Coast Edition" compilation (song Wipe the Slate Clean) 2008.
