“We are Ascension…and this is how WE do it”. Formed in the fall of ’06 Ascension is a traditional hard rock/heavy metal band formed from the friendship of singer John Burke, guitar player Derek Mueller, and drummer Luke Smatla. The three formed the band out of their equal love to write and create enjoyable HEAVY music. With Jake Bollinger on bass guitar the group played their first show February of ’07 at Back2Life coffee house. Now with Patrick Ripetto on bass Ascension has since gained momentum playing regularly around the Kansas City, and Saint Joseph area.
