“Music…Music…Music for a while, shall all your cares beguile …”- Henry Purcell

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. My first musical influences consisted of (1) my crib mobile that played music and (2) my two amazing parents and three older brothers who always encouraged the arts. From as early as I can remember, my family hosted an annual Christmas Eve Carol tradition where we went up and down the block singing in at least 3 part harmony on every song. Every school I went to from kindergarten to high school had a strong music program. After graduating from the “Fame” school, I decided to let go of music for a “real” dream. I matriculated into Dartmouth College in 2004 as a psychology major with a pre med emphasis. I also became a member of the Dartmouth College Gospel Choir. Unbeknownst to me, this ensemble was going to help transform me from a girl running away from the musical limelight into a young woman who embraces the gift God has given me and wants to share it with others. I give thanks to Walt Cunningham and the Gospel Choir community for developing me as an artist and as a believer in all things musical. The day my mother passed away during my senior winter term, I turned on a track that I had recorded in Walt’s studio. This track was the only thing that was able to bring me solace during a time of deep bereavement. That term, I realized that life is too short to run away from things that you love and I decided to continue my pursuit of both my loves … a musical career as well as a graduate degree. I am currently putting the finishing touches of my first album which I hope will help finance the next step in my educational growth … and I am happy.
