In 2000, Koaste released Call To Arms under the name Last Men Standing on the Raw Materials 2 LP (Stonegroove Records), shouting out his contemporaries in the UK scene at the time, and earning a "legendary" tag from Knowledge magazine in the process. Only four tracks were recorded under the LMS name, and eventually, due to conflicts of interest with the producer, Koaste decided to go it alone.

Since then, Koaste has brought his fire to various releases including Hoodee's First Contact EP (Aerosolik 2002), Dr Syntax's Pack Mentality (Dented/Beer & Rap 2006) and Rup's King Cnut Remix (Zebra Traffic 2007). The latest release was the Ill Padrino 12" with production group The Waxheds (Smashing Enterprises 2007) which received some great reviews. He has also appeared on every Brighton Hip-Hop Festival CD since its conception, gaining great exposure through cover mounts on Hip Hop Connection and Touch magazines.

2007 also saw Koaste team up with producer Mex of Black Grass (Catskills Records) as the crew's hypeman, contributing tracks to the forthcoming third LP, and performing at the Isle of Wight festival, The Big Chill, and a regular spot at Cargo, with more planned for 2008.

2008 should also see Koaste's stock in the game rise still higher with the release of the debut LP and a couple of limited edition 7" s on Brighton's Heroic Recordings.

After over ten years in the game, Koaste has undeniably paid his dues, and with releases becoming more and more regular, everything hints at there being a lot more to come from this south coast firebrand. (-) collapse
