Lee Tompkins is preparing to release his debut single this month, marking a huge stage in the career of the multi-talented musician-songwriter. Lee, who lives in New York, has just put the final touches to the single, and is now preparing for the imminent release that will hopefully build upon his fan base and get his music heard by more people than ever.


The single titled: “Tonya Smile” (Distributed by Island Def Jam) provides a combination of high-energy horn playing, melodious keys and heartfelt rhythmic undercurrent bears testament to live band sound of yesterday and the music is punctuated throughout with elements of reggae, hip-hop, jazz, dance and R&B.;


The theme of the single underlies the changes that Lee has gone through over recent years, the biggest of which being the death of his mother (Lovina Tompkins). It was this that allowed him to thrive off the opportunities presented to him, to explore fresh sounds and develop a new musical style.
