Loscil has released a series of albums on Kranky Records, following an earlier self-released demo, beginning with ‘Triplepoint’ in 2001. The 2002 album ‘Submers’ plumbed the ocean depths for inspiration (every track takes its name from a submarine), and included a eulogy to the victims of the Kursk tragedy. ‘First Narrows’, taking its name from the Vancouver landmark, followed in 2004, and in early 2006 the freely available mp3 album ‘Stases’ was released (http://one.dot9.ca/2/releases.php?id=027). Loscil’s latest album, the ethereal sounding ‘Plume’, was released at the end of 2006.
