Carrying on the tradition of folk legends such as John Denver and Joan Baez, recording artist Luanne Hunt strikes a nostalgic, yet contemporary chord with anyone who appreciates great American music.
The Southern California resident offers an ear-catching repertoire of original material highlighted by piano and acoustic instruments.
Hunt’s latest CD, “Breaking Through,” has earned her the No. 1 spot on the Indie Music Folk Charts. The project, which has also been submitted for a 2008 Grammy Award, was produced by renowned producer Eric Uglum (Alison Krauss, Ron Block, Cherryholmes, Nickel Creek, Stuart Duncan, and Ralph Stanley).
Additionally, songs from “Breaking Through” are currently receiving radio play on FM stations in the U.S., Canada and Australia.
Hunt, who records on the American Classic Recordings label, has performed at countless festivals, fairs, womens’ groups, coffee houses, conventions and private events since the mid-1990s. The angelic-voiced singer released her debut CD, "Lost In Your Love," in 2002. The project garnered rave reviews from fans and music industry professionals, such as jazz recording artist Al Jarreau.

Along with her new CD, Luanne recently released a music video, “The Miracle In You,” which is featured on the American Music Channel on the Internet. The video reached No. 26 on the sites’ Top 100 charts the week of Dec. 16.
