Greenville, SC

about +
Hailing from Asheville, NC, MarsupiaL "has created a buzz around the southeast U.S. with an eclectic musical vision that melds an improv-heavy mix of jazz-rock and progressive rock with a superior melodic content." MarsupiaL has toured in seven states in the last seven years, playing over 350 shows, and has distributed thousands of live promotional CDs. MarsupiaL has performed at festivals like Bele Chere and the Flat Rock Music Festival, and clubs such as The Orange Peel, Stella Blue, and The Pour House. MarsupiaL opened for Gov't Mule at the 2007 Warren Hayne's Christmas Pre Jam, and has also shared the stage with Jerry Joseph, Schleigho, Strut, Hobex, and Ulu.

The latest CD from MarsupiaL, 'Curtains', is the band's third full length studio release. Previous albums have been featured in Relix Magazine, Honest Tune, Kynd Music, and Mountain Xpress. WNCW radio has kept MarsupiaL's albums in heavy rotation and featured the band live on three separate studio broadcasts. In 2006, 'Moby Fleck' was listed as #19 on WNCW's Top 100 Regional Albums, and MarsupiaL was the recipient of the Regional Artist Project Grant from both the Asheville Area Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts Council.
