MATT BIOUL

about +
Matt Bioul is releasing his new record, Daystripper

The recording and mixing were done by Ian Caple (Tricky, Tindersticks, Yann Tiersen, Alain Bashung....) in Brighton on old school tape for the colour and varnish. The album has indeed got a vintage feel to it as all the sounds are analogical.

As early as the "Mock-ups", the album's ring was very "end of the 60's/beginning of the 70's brit-pop" and Matt wanted to reach the end of the artistic and technical reasoning in order to re-create the warmth of that sound. That sound can only be found in England: it's a mix of culture, a certain way of producing and the quality of the musicians. You can also find England on the CD between the takes, between the rain, the stolidness and the Bristish sense of humour, and you can feel it. Really.

So here we have it, 12 titles of sheer hapiness who's ambition is to get your foot taping and you singing away.
