That'll teach you to not brush after every upload! :) Do you have AIM?

hey, love the new song, nice work! how do you keep track of when your songs hit the front page? that's something i haven't been able to find on my artist account...

What kind of mic did you get? I'm looking at mics for my macbook pro for podcasting.

To have every single song post, most just hours after they're uploaded? Yeah ... I'd say that's unusual. ;)

I'd like to hear your music with professional recording and mixing. You'd blow most artists out of the water.

Mixtapes formula for success:

1. Upload song.
2. Watch song post.
3. Repeat.

Like clockwork. It's amazing. :)

UPDATE: Yours was the first song I've ever first bumped that went on to hit the home page! Congratulations to you, and thanks for being awesome.

Hi, and you're quite welcome! Very nice work. :)

it wouldn't have mattered, i didn't get back home until about 30 minutes before i bumped anyway. i have noticed that some artists, admiral twin and anj granieri come to mind, will sometimes put up a message on the walls of consistent fans to give them notice about an upcoming upload.

leaving aside the game aspects of this site, which i dearly love, even more do i love the fact that a woman with a microphone and a computer can be become a hot act in a matter of weeks here. and the fact that you and your fans get so much interaction and communication makes it even better.

i'm sure if you keep making music and i keep logging on and listening i'll probably get another first bump on one of your songs and that'll be cool.

let me sum it up in two words--

you rock!

Heh! Sorry about that, I didn't see your comment on my wall until I was already done with my second recommendation!

USB will be a good thing in your recording setup if you don't have a mixing board, because it should eliminate the need for one, so there's a good chance that your purchase will work out well. Congratulations, and I'm looking forward to hearing what you start producing with the new gear!

ROCK!

Actually, check this one out:

The MXL 990 USB powered condenser mic. It's basically the same microphone I use for vocals, but it is powered by USB so you don't need 'phantom power' or a mixer.

Honestly, this one is PERFECT for what you need. It's true that I was blown away by the difference between the Radio Shack mics and the first Shure I used, and I was even more astonished when I used my first condenser mic, which is what the MXL 990 is.

ROCK!

Hey there,

Thanks for the nice comment on 'Easy Lover'. As it turns out, we have a mutual respect for each other's material. I have max bumped a good number of your songs from my listener account.

Regarding the new microphone: If you haven't already found a mic that you're itching to get, the Shure SM58 is often considered to be one of the great, reliable vocal microphones out there and you can pick a new one up for around $100. You might need to invest in a mixing board too, depending on your setup, but oh MAN is it worth it. I couldn't believe the difference the first time I recorded a song with a 'real' mic instead of cheap Radio Shack one.

ROCK!
