Modern Thieves is a Washington, DC based alternative rock band with a drop of trip-hop in their sound.

Modern Thieves came together in the early winter of 2009 and recorded an original EP around the holidays and blizzards at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, VA where a lot of seminal punk records were made (Fugazi, Bad Brains, Minor Threat).

The band features three former members of DC soul-rock band Politicks – Mike Trella on guitar, Brian Chafin on bass, Brendan McCourt on drums – along with newcomer Ryan Murphy on vocals and guitar.
