So...here's a bit of forewarning, you mad bumper you. We'll be uploading a new tune, "Big Black Car," to T61 sometime around 12:06pm (CDT) today. It's a happy-go-lucky murder song with a fun beat. It's also a track from our latest CD, The Center of the Universe, which is currently being featured as a "recommended CD" in the April issue of Paste Magazine...which makes us very happy.

You can, in fact, listen to our music at a Paste listening station in your local indie music shop. While doing so, feel free to exclaim loudly, jump up and down and make generally orgasmic faces. This will make the store manager very happy. (Us too.)

"Enough with the shameless self promotion already," you're probably muttering to yourself between whispered curses. "Get your poncy verbiage off my comment wall, you twittering hack."

All right already. Just throw a few bumps our way if ya like what ya hear...OK?

CloverRex just revived our song "Good as Gold." It's one of the very first songs we posted here on T61 a while back...I'm glad to see it's getting another shot at "the big time." If you get a chance, check it out.

Oh, by the way, don't be alarmed by the numerous backwards messages buried deep within the mix of the song. We're just subliminally encouraging you to get plenty of fiber in your diet. And check the air pressure in your tires regularly. And floss. No big deal, seriously.

Just flow with it.

Soo pardon the shameless self promotion, but I wanted to let you know we just put up seven new live recordings from our show last Saturday at Cinespace in Hollywood. The audio is really great and includes five previously unrecorded songs, including "Mercedes Benz" a cover of a Janis Joplin classic. I think it's arguable that these sound better than our studio album, but regardless I'm really excited to have em on line to show off to music aficionado's like your self. Cheers!

I like to promote the music of my friends when I believe in their material. There's one singer that I should have already been telling everybody about a long time ago, but she has the disadvantage of having me doing the mixing, mastering and music for her songs.

Please allow me to direct your attention to my wife's page on thesixtyone, and our page as well. I have just posted songs on both profiles.

"Presenting to You" was created for a benefit CD that should be available again in the near future. The website needs to be revamped.

"Need Stilts" is often considered to be one of the greatest songs I have ever taken part in writing.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hey there,

You bumped "Glutton" 3 times, "Pencil Me In" twice and "Who Knows What's Next" once. I appreciate that. Thank you.

I won't be putting any new songs on here for a long time. I'm BEYOND maxed out with 21 songs. I will have to reach level 20 to put up anything new, and the highest rated artist is at level 17 right now. It's safe to say it's going to be a while.

Then again, 21 songs is a probably a lot to absorb. Should you choose to hear more, you can!

Thanks again for your support.

Operation "Give merz Love Day" was a rousing success! "Butterfly" hit the home page, bumps galore for all his great music, and merz even noticed and gave t61 two new songs -- including his new single leaked off his new album! "Presume Too Much" is awesome -- if you haven't already, check it out.

The bumps are much appreciated! Do you want a free cd (as long as you live in the US I can swing the shipping )? It's got 13 tracks on it, including the four on our page. It might take a few weeks because I have to start making them but if you do, send me an email at cactusbobband@gmail.com. I can't afford to do this for everybody, but for the 4 or five of you that have bumped all 4 of our songs at this point, its worth it! -Ryan

Hey there,

I'm sending this message because you bumped "God Only Knows". Sadly, it's my lowest performing song to date on thesixtyone. Thus far it looks like you may have actually lost points on it by bumping it. Sorry about that.

I am strongly considering the idea of deleting that song to make room for a different one, but I wanted to check with the people that bumped it before I actually do that. I can even give you advance notice of when I'm going to upload the replacement song if you like.

ROCK!

Yay for bumping songs within the first hour! Thank you! Now here's a brief history of the song.

"Who Knows What's Next" was written and recorded along with six other songs as part of an "Album-a-Day". The idea is to write and record a minimum of 20 minutes worth of music within a 24 hour time period. 17 hours into the project I decided to call it good, and the resulting 'album' is called "Just So You Know".

Thing is, I hated how the vocals sounded, so I re-recorded them very early this morning. I actually redid the vocals for "I Fell Flat" and edited that mp3 as well.

So, there you go! Thanks again for bumping it!

ROCK!
