As a child, Naomi Hates Humans didn't think she could sing. A childhood of being stood at the back of the school choir can do that to you. It wasn't until adolescence brought a new found 'fuck you' attitude and the discovery of punk that she decided it didn't matter, she had things to say.
She joined her first band at 15 and continued to sing in bands for the next 8 years (not getting round to picking up a guitar until she was 19). These included a two year stint in a school band with Sam Preston of The Ordinary Boys and three years in her last band, Morbo Hates Humans, a band named after a Futurama reference, which provided her with her unusual stage moniker. It was during this band that her distinctive gravelly voice started to emerge, blamed on being in a band so loud she had to shout to hear herself and a youthful insatiable appetite for Jack Daniels. It was also at this time that a part-time job in an independent record shop provided her with a musical education that went beyond punk into PJ Harvey, Bjork, Gang of Four and the general idea that a point could be made without shouting.

Skip forward to Spring 2006. Naomi found herself adrift in the big city with a job she loathed and no musical outlet to express herself. Attempts to start new bands had been thwarted and she hadn't written a new song for months. Then one day, whilst contemplating life from her shower, the song Pipe Dreams and Lullabies came to her almost fully formed. The floodgates were opened. Eager to get back to performing live, Naomi decided to bite the bullet and go solo.
Over the past two years Naomi has played in venues, pubs, lounges, gardens, youth clubs and anywhere else that would have her.
She enjoys long walks on the beach, holding hands, and talking about herself in the third person.
