The son of an Atlanta jazz musician, Nicholas Alan played in a few bands throughout his youth and grew up listening to a wide variety of pop, jazz and rock. He’s a native of Hollywood, FL and was raised in Marietta, GA.
In the summer of 2004, Nicholas set out to make his debut CD A World Like Ours with members of his father’s band sitting in on the sessions. Released in May of 2005, the album is a blend of jazz and pop with unique arrangements.
Nicholas signed with independent label SideBMusic in September 2006. Since then, two tracks from the album, “Why Did I Wait” and “Hollywood”, made it to #1 on SongVault.fm’s Pop Top Hits chart and “Why Did I Wait” made Engage Radio’s Top 10 list for eleven consecutive weeks. In the Fall of 2007, “Why Did I Wait” appeared on Lifetime Network’s new romantic comedy Side Order Of Life starring Jason Priestly.
Nicholas’ 7-track E.P. Busker was released by SideBMusic in September 2007. Produced by John Mayer colleague Clay Cook, the E.P. shows Nicholas’ growth as a songwriter, utilizing more complex arrangements and a wide variety of instrumentation and production techniques.
Nicholas is currently residing in South Korea and continues to write and record. SideBMusic released his single “Too Late” in the Spring of 2011 and plans to release more singles by Nicholas soon.
