Nick Gallegos, Layne Palmer and Ryan Dinneen. NLR is an acronym for Nick, Layne, and Ryan. NLR formed when one day at Ryan's house they decided to make a song. It resulted in Back in Your Heart. Not satisfied, the three began to write new rhymes.

From a combined effort of three,a mixtape began to take shape. It has themes about love in high school and Denver, CO, the group's hometown.

Produced at Major Studios, (a euphemism for recorded in Ryan's room) Straight Out of the Suburbs reflects the band's love of life. They created a collection of anthems to the youth, a repertoire of laid back music geared for high school and college students.
