Hometown: San Francisco, Boston & Baltimore

The buzz is all about Honeyspun’s new six song self-titled EP, three years in the making, and finally ready for the hive. Living apart in Baltimore, Boston & San Francisco, this industrious foursome used everything from video chat to internet radio to collaborate in crafting their music, periodically flying to perform shows and record in the studio together. Driven by geometric lyrics & mellifluous melodies, Honeyspun's offerings alternate between springtime verve and autumnal nostalgia with piano, acoustic guitar, cello and synth embroidering thick layers of Gibson guitar hooks & washes, hummable bass lines, and alterna-pop drum beats.
Songwriter Nolan Love waxes introspective:

"I use music as a journal. It has always fascinated me the way we can be emotionally transported to some time in the past immediately through a song we loved then. A recent breakup (Beck "Sea Change"), my high school dorm room (Bob Mould "Wishing Well"), the Peace Corps in Africa (Nick Drake "Pink Moon")... these are signposts along the way that allow us to retrace our steps and see how far we've come. I try to capture the most meaningful and pivotal moments of personal growth in my own life with lyrics and harmony that will have the same effect. Honeyspun magnifies that experience by permitting timbral, harmonic and rhythmic dissonance, syncopation, and resolution which really broadens the emotional vocabulary. My hope in sharing the music is that the everyday themes we're dealing with will resonate with others so these songs can serve as waypoints for them as well."
