Bryan and Jeremy have been best friends for a long time. They grew up together in North Carolina, shared a room in California, and have finally settled in a two-story house in Nashville, TN, the place some call "Music City, USA".
After releasing their debut independent record, "Just Wait" while they were still in high school, they released a few more singles before a long period of quiet. During this time, they split off to separate colleges throughout the southeast, only to leave those schools at the drop of a hat to head west to record the album they've always wanted to record.
They met fascinating people, went to ritzy hollywood parties, picked fights with former boy band members, and once ate brunch with Denzel Washington and Beyonce (AT THE SAME TIME!).
But for what can only be described as "part of the music biz", the record never came out and the band found themselves back at square one. Instead of waiting for the next "white knight" to come along, they decided to move on. They began writing and recording new songs as soon as possible, releasing them independently again, placing themselves in the drivers seat.
And so, "Futura" is born. This six song EP finally shows the promise Pico vs Island Trees (and critics) have always believed they had. There's something for everyone on this disc, whether you're into the disco pop of Michael Jackson, Prince, and the Bee Gees, or the indie rock sounds of Wilco, Spoon, and Death Cab for Cutie.
With this new release and a steady touring schedule (complete with their lifelong dream of playing with The Flaming Lips), Pico is stronger than ever, adding three other musicians to their energetic live shows. And what started with two best friends has become something even bigger, and continues to grow.
