The lady Sails are a band from London (England that is), formed in 2005 by some school friends. Having absolutely no guitar knowledge or skill their early recording had a, shall we say 'rough', edge. However, as time progressed their skills became more refined and set roles devoloped within the band.
The introduction of Charlie Furber, the drummer, not only gave the band a strong rythmic base but also a more melodic tone. At this time they were known as the Winter Revolution and it was under this name that they released two EPs in the summer of 2007. In december/january they started recording new material. It was then decided, whilst the band were in a cottage in Wales, that the band name should be changed to the Lady Sails. The new name seemed to reflect better their new folky indie pop sound. They also decided that their album should be called 'Unplanned Days', a reflection of their rather scattered lifestyles during their gap year.
The follow up self titled album was recorded over a three week period in a house in south london. While some tracks were live most were layered (a cause of endless debate over the value of lo - fi integrity vs medium - fi clarity).
All music made by the lady sails is free, (hence the double free download).
