West Coast recording artist Michael Maricle began creating music at the age of four when he first sat down to play the piano. He reports that the first songs he created were played on the black keys.
Michael studied piano as he was growing up and went on to study composition at UC Santa Barbara. There he spent most of his time learning about synthesizers, samplers, recording and electronic music, which was in the early 1990s when music technology was really starting to take off.
After college Michael played in a Santa Barbara based jam band called Tao Jonz for about four years.
In 1995 Michael moved to San Francisco and formed an electronic band called Padma, playing improvised electronic music at obscure parties in the SF underground electronic music scene.
Michael completed his first solo album, Dreamelodia, in the year 2000 - a melodic ambient journey especially suited for yoga, meditation and relaxation.
The following year Michael decided to move to Seattle to focus on his solo work.
Since moving to Seattle, Michael has created solo CDs, worked with the Oracle Gatherings Crew, studied sound healing with Tom Kenyon, and most recently started a band called Bloom and a band called Frenchy Toasty.
Michael has released CDs with Hemi-Sync, the first being "Breakthrough" in 2005. Hemi-Sync CDs are designed to enhance creativity, learning and focus.
In 2009 Michael released “Reflections” as a reintroduction to the music of Michael Maricle, and "French Press", a CD of downtempo ethereal grooves with a French twist.
Look for two new releases from Michael in 2010 and 2011 - a new Hemi-Sync entitled "Elation", and the debut Bloom album called "Beautiful Worlds".
