The band was founded at the beginning of 2009 by Elena Vasile and David Ciente. They renamed the RAZA project and redirected the project in the musical industry. The portofolio consists of 13 songs with Enlish lyrics, with quite a success on European musical oriented sites (www.sellaband.com, www.thesixtyone.com ).
At the end of 2009, the first Electric Fence song which can be associated with their actual style was composed (“I’m the Biggest Star”). The song was rejected by the jury of Eurovision 2010 but, by chance, it reached to the ears of Bogdan Serban from Radio Guerilla, and he proposed it to the radio board. The song flawlessly passed the board’s judging (this is quite rare opportunity in Radio Guerilla) and got into the radio playlist, and even ranked 2nd in the TopShow40. In may 2010, Vlad Todor (bass), Ovidiu Condrea(drums) and Stefan Constantinescu (guitar) joined the band, and the band had their first gig at the Hand2Hand and Music Marathon Festival. After this, more songs were composed, so 8 other songs were added to the 5 song portofolio performed on the first gig, some of which are “Stressless”, “Ready, Steady, Go!”, and “Wr0ng”. These last songs also reached into the playlist of Radio Guerilla, and ranked 1st in the TopShow40, each and every time.
The band invented the Rock’n’Blog concept, and they put it on stage twice: in club “Tago Mago” and club “Laptaria lui Enache”, where two well-known bloggers (toma Nicolau and Cristian China Birta aka “Chinezu”) sang along with Electric Fence.
Electric Fence performed in important clubs throughout Bucharest and in the whole country. They had a live performance at Guerrilive hosted by Bogdan Serban from Radio Guerilla.
In February 2011, the band decided to replace Stefan Constantinescu with Alexandru Mîşu, a 20 year-old guitar player, with a very bright future. Meanwhile, Ovidiu Condrea decided to leave the band, for another project. In July 2011, Vlad Todor, the bass player, decided to study medicine, and he was replaced by Tudor Rotarus.
The band performed at the Mosquito Festival, at TiMAFF, AlternaTiff, where they got a very good feedback.
The fresh and energetic performance, the inspired setlist and the exceptional qualities of the vocal and the band make the band very attractive and surprising. This boosted the band towards the most important stages in Romania. They were invited to play at B’estFEST and Penninsula festivals.
In the fall of 2011, they will release their first album.
