To our faithful listeners,

We've decided to formally shutdown thesixtyone.com -- our servers will go offline at midnight, May 1st 2017.

Artist tipping and music purchases will be functional until then, so please spend any remaining credits by month's end.
A final payment will be made to artists following the shutdown.

thesixtyone was our baby for most of our twenties. We're incredibly sorry we weren't able to keep things going in the
right direction.

2007-2017

Thank you for being a part of it.

Farewell,

James Miao & Samuel Hsiung

That's what was great about this site : people were my friends, not just my listeners. This specific dynamic was very important for me.

I'm now following you on Twitter. As you'll see, my page is mostly an awful feed coming from posts on Youtube. I'll have to learn how to use this network properly. :) (I'm not any better on Facebook, mind you.)

It is breaking my heart too. I'm not even looking for an alternative, as I know there isn't one.
From what I understand, you're not the only one who's tried to contact the owners to offer help. That makes the pending shutdown even more frustrating. I can only hope that someone will create a new site someday, as clever and enjoyable as this one. Meanwhile, I'll try and stay in touch with the friends I've made here.

Hello Reaxion, Sorry to see this site go! I barely even got to know it since I only just discovered it, but I wanted to thank you for the likes you gave my music on here! If you are interested in a free copy of my album, email me at alphanerealitygenerator@gmail.com and I will send you a code.

So this is goodbye... Thank you so much for your support. When the site shuts down, I'll remember your comments on Mojo's page, and smile.
Take care.

Everything's okay, thanks. I miss Mojo, of course, and I miss making silly, funny songs with him (I can't seem to be able to do that on my own : my stuff is sooo serious Oo). But I'm glad I have these songs we've created together ; they still make me laugh, and the idea that others laugh to them too is comforting. :)
Your comment on my artist page is one of the funniest, awesomest thing that has been said about my music! Thanks for listening, and for the hearts. They're much appreciated. :)

And you were also his first buyer (thanks to you I could say : "my cat makes money with his music", and have people look at me as if I was insane, haha). Which initiated the tip = treat thing with a few others T61 listeners. He's been so spoilt!
Wonderful memories, and big smiles from recalling the giggles I had myself each time you commented on his profile.

Hi reaxion, it's Joanne Gabriel (Mojo's mom and minion).
Thank you so much for your kind words on Mojo's page, and for helping him to get noticed by other listeners - I'll always remember that moment when he hit the home page for the first time with Hmmmerrraew. It felt so awesome. :)
