REBECCA ANN

Dallas, TX

about +
Rebecca Ann’s story started off with a big BANG! In early 2008, she wrote and recorded her first original single Take Me Back. The recording was simple; just vocals and a piano. Shortly after, she vaguely remembers coming across a website that said something about “Submitting a Song.” Without much thought she sent her song in. A few weeks later she received an email from Music Nation in New York asking for broadcast clearance for her song. Based on fan voting her song Take Me Back landed in 6th place in the 6th round in the “GAC Star Competition.” She was in shock, and didn’t even believe it until she saw her name listed on the website. Rebecca Ann’s Take Me Back was aired nationally on Great American Country TV in July of 2008. This early success reignited a passion for country music that was there all along. It gave her the confidence and momentum she needed to--jump in with both feet! Since then she has been honing her songwriting skills and has cut several other singles. With a fearless personality and enthusiasm for music, Rebecca Ann is on her way.

Background:
Rebecca Ann Morland was born on near Westmoreland, Kansas, a small town in the Flint Hills consisting of 500 people. She and her two older siblings grew up on their family ranch where they learned discipline and a strong work ethic from two loving parents.

After graduating from college at Kansas State University, she packed her bags and literally chose a spot on the map to call her new home – Dallas, Texas. Rebecca Ann decided to move south without a job, a place to live, or local friends. She very quickly found all three. Her go get’em attitude and vivacious personality allowed her to quickly gain success.
Rebecca Ann is an inventive and imaginative singer/songwriter with a voice that is pure and refreshing. Her background of growing up on the ranch is a source of inspiration for many of her original songs.
In April, Rebecca Ann auditioned and was selected to perform at a local venue called Rodeo City Music Hall. She also auditioned and started to perform at the Wylie Opry. This also lead to recent performances at one of Dallas’s top venues- The House Blues.
Rebecca Ann praises Jesus for all her success and thanks her wonderful friends and family for their encouragement to follow her dreams all the way to the top!

“Fresh face, fresh look & fresh sound…. a great combination for a singer/songwriter.” ----−Billy McCoy, guitarist for Janie Fricke
