biography
The duo Anja Kreysing/Kai Niggemann from Münster (Germany) present their debut album "Red Room Diner". We can hear a shredded "squeezebox", a whole pile of beeps and clongs, but not "Intelligent Dance Music" (TM) because these two music geeks got together under the motto "Intelligence requires countermeasures" to broaden the contemporary listener's horizon.

If you are expecting silly euro-techno after this, you'll be disappointed, though, since the 10 tracks (including hidden track "Infinity") on this album are 45 minutes of a uniquely ingenius challenge not to be underestimated. It is an album that was recorded by people who name Shostakovitch, Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, UFA Schlager and European folk as their main influences.

Musicians who simply listen to whatever pleases their ears can only be expected to show the same open-mindedness on their own record: We have English, French and Arabic words, cut up samples and phrases, bombastic sounds and some tracks have melodies impossible to ever forget again.

The sounds of the accordeon are what really defines the album though, and are the main indication for Resonator's courage (and passion) for the weird and unexpected. L... (+) expand
