Rob Johnson is a guitarist from the united kingdom. He has been playing in bands for over 10 years. Most of them rubbish but one (forward is the farewell) was alright. They played gigs with hellogoodbye, furthest drive home, atom gang and canterbury and released 2 eps.

The album (Upon a Painted Ocean) was recorded on and off throughout 2008 and early 2009 by Geoff Swan at the Ranch studios in Southampton. Rob even managed to rope in Max Bemis of punk rock superstars Say Anything to record guest vocals for it.

The result is somewhere between soundtrack and soundscape. The guitar is the focus of some very powerful and even emotional music. Challenging and different the album is never less than interesting.
Rob is supporting the release of the album by playing a series of acoustic shows across the country before he takes the full painted ocean live experience on the road sometime next year. He hopes you like what you hear.
