My Grandad Harold Bought a Piano nearly 100 years ago, He liked to play Wagner on it and it, as well as the whole family, came through the blitz of WWII in London after being bombed out of several houses with a single scratch. On VE day it was carried into the Street (I think Turniville Road in Chiswick) where somebody probably played 'Roll out the barrel'. Ironically it was made in Germany by a company Called Neumeyer who, by the war, were part of the Panzer Tank company. The Ivory is now brown, and the strings are the originals but, despite all my other instruments, this is my favourite thing to sit and play :) These recordings are therefore fondly dedicated to Harold Golightly ARP Warden, who lived before me yet with me through the warmth of this lovely old piana'.
