Roll Acosta has been hard at work on their first full length album titled, This Dreamt Existence. The Indie Pop trio from Tucson released The Dawn EP in summer of 2010 and last Spring released The Dark EP, also a four song collection. This Dreamt Existence will be released in early July 2012 prior to the band’s tour this summer. Fans of the band however will have a chance to obtain the new album at the two cd release shows Roll Acosta will perform June 9th and June 22 in Tucson and Tempe respectively.
More about the album... This time the band enlisted the help of indie rock mainstay, John Vanderslice to produce the new record. John met the band during their 2011 summer tour when they stopped into his renowned Tiny Telephone Studio to do some recording. “We fell in love with Tiny Telephone and everyone there right away”, remarks frontman Jacob Acosta. “The place has such a good vibe. We were thrilled when we learned John wanted to work with us and that we’d be recording the album at his studio in San Francisco.” Vanderslice has brought a wealth of creativity to the recording. His eclectic style and dedication to capturing the essence of each song is apparent.
Since the 2011 summer tour, Roll Acosta has continued to remain a fixture in the Tucson and Phoenix music scenes, performing most notably at Tucson’s Club Congress and the Pride in the Desert Festival last fall. Earlier this year, the band completed a very successful 4 show residency at the Rogue Bar in Scottsdale. In the upcoming weeks Roll Acosta will perform on KXCI’s Locals Only Radio Program and Arizona Public Media’s Arizona Spotlight. Two tours are planned for this summer, one that takes the band throughout California, Oregon and Washington, while the other will be a regional tour focusing on all of Arizona.
