To our faithful listeners,

We've decided to formally shutdown thesixtyone.com -- our servers will go offline at midnight, May 1st 2017.

Artist tipping and music purchases will be functional until then, so please spend any remaining credits by month's end.
A final payment will be made to artists following the shutdown.

thesixtyone was our baby for most of our twenties. We're incredibly sorry we weren't able to keep things going in the
right direction.

Thank you for being a part of it.

...ugh sorry...long msg...anyway, i'm selling the album and donating every cent to charity (at this point I'm leaning towards "Save the Music"). that's my idea anyway. I've got about 16 musicians on board so far. most of them are listed with link on my Myspace page (www.myspace.com/neelamdatta). Think you might be interested? I think you'd be a great addition. if not, no biggie :-) take care man!

hey man! sorry i took sooooooooooo long to reply :-P. Life doesn't like to slow down when I tell it to, lol. anyway, thanks a lot for the suggestions. I checked out some of those m-audio interfaces and I think i'm gonna get one once i save a bit for it. so i was wondering if you'd be interested in the non-profit org i'm starting called heARTbeats (as long as that name isn't taken). I'm getting musicians to donate songs (which they keep the rights to) and then i'm compiling an album...

well i don't really know what kind of equipment i need. simpler is better haha. i've been recording straight to my macbook pro's internal mic and using garageband. i bought logic express, and i recorded "Oh Me, Oh My" using that. i bought a Blue "Bluebird" mic but haven't used it because i think i need an interface of some sort, and i was told it requires something called phantom power (no idea haha). I just want to add to my setup to get a better sound, not really make a totally new setup.
