Drawing mandalas and watching Captain Kangaroo...that's pretty much what it's like in here. I enjoy writing songs about my cats and cartoon insects, but I'm also fond of feeling up the tentacles that lead to the oneness of existence. That's the Marble Tea experience.
I know how to tune a guitar, but I don't do it very well. Music theory is mostly Greek to me, but I can find the Mediterranean C on nearly any piano you might threaten me with. After that, it's all groping in the dark (and you know how much fun that can be), so you'll please allow me a few indulgences.
Oh sure, I've been playing guitar since I was probably 6 years old, but it was only to make noise and put some kind of sound behind my attempts to verbalize the way I saw the world. I never took it very seriously at all. And neither should you.
Bands are things that I've played in over the years, and as much fun as performing can be, I generally prefer the secluded intimacy of writing and recording alone. Like a sculptor sucking psychocandy and molding moments from music, it feels like my insides can be my outsides for a spell. You can listen if you want, or not if that's not your thing.
