Well it's finally over, 20 years exactly at the Holiday Inn Kingston. They renovated the restaurant I play at and there is no music anymore. As much as I enjoyed the gig I'm looking forward to focusing on the ragtime/boogie end of things and not having to play mushy covers :-)

Ross MacLachlan is known as The Ragtime Kidd but he doesn't just play ragtime. More info at www.notjustragtime.com

biography
I'm known as the Ragtime Kidd around Kingston Ontario.

I originally set out to play ragtime, boogie and barrelhouse. In order to find employment I've played every imaginable style. I worked 5 nights a week at the Holiday Inn Kingston for years plus tons of boat cruises and other events. As of August 2009 the management closed the restaurant I worked in for 20 years :-(
No hard feelings though, it was a great gig!

On this album I decided to go back to my roots and record what I want. I hope you like it!

Thanks Copadope. The Entertainer is more work than most people imagine. I'm sure you can attest to that!

I love ragtime so much. Back when I played piano, The Entertainer was my favorite song to play. It's too bad I fell out of practice, but I can still enjoy your music!

I love piano boogie and ragtime! I've always wished that I could play like you do! Haven't owned a piano in a number of years but every time I sit in front of one I love playing that kind of stuff, though recently I've picked up the guitar and my new guitar pickin' fingernails make it harder to play!

Yeah Jason I think especially the Ragtime Jalopy sounds like the accompaniment to go with a silent film. Know anyone interested? :-)

If it wasn't for me running out of points, all your songs would have been max bumped. So instead, all but two have been max bumped.

Holy cow you're amazing. You're keeping a dying (For no good reason other than the kids these days gargle gargle get off my lawn) music genre alive.

I loves the ragtime :D
