To our faithful listeners,

We've decided to formally shutdown thesixtyone.com -- our servers will go offline at midnight, May 1st 2017.

Artist tipping and music purchases will be functional until then, so please spend any remaining credits by month's end.
A final payment will be made to artists following the shutdown.

thesixtyone was our baby for most of our twenties. We're incredibly sorry we weren't able to keep things going in the
right direction.

2007-2017

Thank you for being a part of it.

Farewell,

James Miao & Samuel Hsiung

i hadn't even thought about it but i've had a nasty ear infection for about 10 days. that could certainly have had an effect. i'll listen again when i'm completely clear.

now that i've listened to both the original and the clean version i can say definitively that i do like the clean one better. the original upload had a very compressed sound. since one of the more recent tracks by danger had a similar over-compressed aspect to it i thought it might have been deliberate. i can also say that my speakers were insufficient to convey that whistle you were talking about. i did a test with a tone generator and the response cut out around 12000hz. my previous computer could play audible tones up to 18,500. ah well.

cheers!

For any bumpers of Hard and Strong', there seems to be a problem with it's encoding and I will try to upload a 'clean' version of it tomorrow.

well, you know, if there's something you don't quite like about it, you can stop tiptoeing around it and just say so ;}

i'm not really sure i know what you mean. i don't hear anything untoward, of course it might be that the speakers i'm using with my computer aren't responsive enough to produce the effect you describe.
