Hailing from Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Saltwater Grass is a soulful mix of Florida-style. Fronted by singer trained at bluegrass pickin’ circles and backed by a Miami-born percussion duo, the sound is filled out with a bluesy electric guitar, funky bass, wailing harmonica and a cool, muted trumpet.
The band released its eponymous debut in March 2009 at Freebird Live in Jacksonville Beach. They have have appeared at venues such as Skipper’s Smokehouse in Tampa, The Cheyenne Ballroom in Orlando, and The White Room in Miami.
In addition to appearing at the Florida Music Festival in May ‘09, Saltwater Grass has shared the stage with national and international bands such as Groundation, Cornmeal, and Passafire.
In August 2009, the band had the privilege of sharing the stage with President Bill Clinton at an event on the University of Central Florida campus in Orlando, FL.
Saltwater Grass will enter the studio in November 2009 to record their second album.
