I had a long reading list, but I'm stuck in the first one. Against the Day by Thomas Pynchon is taking me forever to read.

Grad school is for Applied Mathematics, mostly probability. Haven't started my thesis yet, but it will likely be an application of swarm/genetic/other distributed algorithm to some communications problem.

...Surprisingly there have been almost no acts of hooliganism, probably those were the most peaceful Euro champs so far. Football really is able to do great things, especially where politicians hit a wall, football can help ^^

Oh, ref and player, that's wonderful! Showing your fellow countrymen the beautiful game :) I'm saying countrymen as your countrywomen seem to have less trouble getting acceptance ^^

It was great to host the event and meet so many people from all over Europe. The funny thing is that only during such events people start to realize how much of a multicultural city Vienna is. The true derby of them all wasn't Austria vs Germany, it was Croatia vs Turkey, especially on the streets. It was great!

The only thing that one should e critical about is the huge marketing business linked to the sport. Beer cost 50% more than average in the official fanzone ;) But the great thing is that football always finds its own fancultures. So there have been places for public viewing all over the country....

Hi. Just thought I'd let you know that we'll be posting a track to T61 today at 1:03pm (CDT). The song is "You Hung the Moon." Come by and take a listen...if you dare.

On a completely separate note: The combination "ough" can be pronounced in nine different ways. The following sentence contains them all:
"A rough-coated, dough-faced, thoughtful ploughman strode through the streets of Scarborough; after falling into a slough, he coughed and hiccoughed."

Nah, you know, only about every tenth person who wanted tickets for the Euro Champs got any. I wasn't amongst the lucky ones. But then, the whole city was partying for the last 3 weeks. I just came home and it was a wonderful experience to host such a mega-event in my city. Besides that, the best team really won the tournament, although as an italian I don't like to admit that Spain really was the best side ;)
Where are you from, mate?
Cheers!

About Me

You aren't alive anywhere like you're alive at fight club.... Fight club isn't about winning or losing fights. Fight club isn't about words. You see a guy come to fight club for the first time, and his ass is a loaf of white bread. You see this same guy here six months later, and he looks carved out of wood. This guy trusts himself to handle anything. There's grunting and noise at fight club like at the gym, but fight club isn't about looking good. There's hysterical shouting in tongues like at church, and when you wake up Sunday afternoon you feel saved.
