Biography

Sixpeopleaway is the musical project of Alistair Merrick (vocals/guitar) and close friend and long time musical collaborator Robert Hitchen (bass/backing vocals).

Together they produce angular acoustic guitar and vocal-led songs with laptop-generated beats and sounds.

They have to date self-released two EPs (sixpeopleaway EP, released July 30th 2007, Intermittent Fault EP, released 29th February), both of which are available worldwide from various download stores and from the bands official website and myspace:

I like the variety, I am looking forward to hearing some live stuff as well, I feel like that's the true test of what a band can produce. Live recordings are touch! Let me know when you're going to put some of that up :)

Love your atmospheric sound. Echoes are sort of one of my weaknesses. All your songs should make it to the homepage!

ha ha, you're a wanky twat (british, it sounds like HAT, so it's cool...)

Actually, your answer was fine... was surprised I got it, honestly. I do agree with your assessment. I see people on here that are shitloads better than people who are "stars"... and they write their own stuff or produce at least. (Keith Warren is a good prime example... sounds great, looks like Layne Staley (except for the whole rotting corpse bit) and writes great tunes. Check "Bound to Break" specifically) We have our own little Bob Dylan in "September 29th", Olivia Golston. Glenn Case is a prolific songwriter, poppy or snappy but pretty good (he's actually considering covering a "For Squirrels" song for me, so I gotta hype him a bit).

And now we're adding you to the mix as well! Welcome to the site, I received a bunch of tuneboxes of your stuff, so it caught on enough where people are interested in getting others interested!

Is your name because of "six degrees of" or is it a six member band?

hope you're not offended ;-) I really like your voice, I can hear some Freddie Mercury at moments and some
Anj Granieri , but with a very personal vibe. Great stuff!

you should make a sixpeepslistenin listener account

no problem. it's the easiest mistake for a new band to make here. one other thing you might consider is for one or more of you to get listener accounts and see what this place looks like on the other side of the upload. good luck.

you guys are good. i would caution you to slow down on the uploads so your music can get a good audience before you put up others that end up competing for bumps with what's already here.
