I didn't think much of this song when I first heard it. Then I kept running into it around the site, and getting it stuck in my head, and eventually I ended up adding it to a playlist, and hearting it... and hearting it again and again. Consider me converted. It's rare that you find a song on here that's both funny AND catchy.
You're one of my favorite artists (on this site or off) and Valve is one of my favorite game companies. Including this (and even "Still Alive") in L4D2 was genius. I ALWAYS stop at the jukeboxes and play it. The part that I really dig is the brilliant juxtaposition of the lyrics to "deadening" office work and politics. Max hearts. :)
Dear Johnathan, When I first heard about your project a couple years ago I'll admit I was intrigued but skeptical, I mean a song every day? But you hooked me with Code Monkey, and you cinched the deal with Re: Your Brains. Anyone who can work "constructive criticism" into verse has to be utterly brilliant. Also I can't go to Ikea now without humming a couple verses. I only regret not posting this years ago. Love it! Best, J
This guy is so clever with his use of geek culture to craft some seriously sticky songs. I mean, seriously stuck in my head for days now. Wait. Ok John, you suck. Get out of my head!
Really, this guy has a voice that is just awesome and the music is catchy. He could sing anything and it would sound good. I think this song is a good example of that.
