Nice. I love Sigur Ros, and I really like this. I am a sucker for more vocals, though. About one third through I feared it would sour into a Manheim SteamRoller thing, but, thankfully did not. Last fourth AMAZING. I want more..... :- )
The Sigur Ros comparison is very apt. This has a very similar feel, and is equally as enjoyable. I love the way its different movements come at the listener in waves then retreat.
I agree! I especially like the way they bring everything back in in the last minute and a half - complete contrast. The breaks are really cool too - only noticed this on the second listen though.... =] http://www.thesixtyone.com/#
ahh, i went to see efterklang b/c balmorhea was opening too. ideally it was a really good lineup, but unfortunately balmorhea had to cancel :( still hoping to catch a show by these guys some day.
aww, pity. never seen efterklang or balmorhea. my mum saw efterklang last summer and she totally loved it :3 she described the guys style as 70s maths teachers haha (:
i'm not used to like music with no vocals, but this song, this beautiful violin singing in my ears has won my heart today. tks, guys, keep this good working!
