Growing up in a rural Michigan town that didn’t exactly shine in the world as a superior outlet for music, Stacey Koziel had a hard time accepting the fact that a girl from the middle of nowhere couldn’t ever get -out- of nowhere. She had her mother and older sister to raise her, and push her away from the constraints that the cornfields surrounding their community seemed to hold on nearly everyone there. Stacey was bound and determined from the beginning, though, to "make something" of herself and return the impossible favor of "paying back" her mother for everything she had done to help Stacey achieve her dream. "I will forever be working toward that goal", Stacey says. Even at a young age, the fiery girl always seemed to have a story to tell, or a joke to pass along. "I've always loved making people happy, or interested, or I've had this desire to take there mind somewhere else...maybe that's because my own imagination has always been a little off-the-wall...". Whatever the case, Stacey continues to tell these stories through songs, hoping to make people smile along the way, or elevate their imaginations to places unknown. All the while, she has vowed never to forget her roots in Southwest Michigan, or the people who helped her get to where she is today. "If I can make one person feel one positive emotion through one lyric, one note, or one idea...well..that's just the dream, isn't it?"
