biography
The Sweet Kings brand of quasi-traditional ska is great dance music; but if you close your eyes for just a few seconds, you might just be wisked away to a tropical paradise, margarita in hand, in a cot between two coconut trees swaying to the beat. The 7 piece band is easy to notice, but what you'll be happy to not notice is any attempt at being a crossover punk or rock band; its all ska.

Their first full length release, Jah Say What?!, is available on Interpunk.com.

Beginning in 2005, the Sweet Kings have filled the much needed role of a mature yet fun straight up ska band in central Florida. Some highlights have been playing the Orlando House of Blues & Hard Rock Cafe, sharing the stage with Against All Authority and with the Independents on two occasions. The Kings are always playing a show and are working on their 2nd album.

thank you for the kind words, my friend. also, thank you for living on and playing ska- there are not enough bands that still play the good old hup-hups and pickitups like everyone used to. give your horn players a pat on the back, they sound great!
