The Barrens started around 2004 in Upstate NY,
then known as Burn the Koalas. The quickly
added a 4th member, changed their name, and
eventually moved to NYC

Since then, they have played a bunch of shows,
recorded a few EPs, and established themselves
in the NYC scene. The Barrens have produced 2
revolutionary podcasts, (mixing and blending all
existing and unreleased material into extended
'mixtape podcasts) added a 5th member about a
year ago, now finally complete. First EP as a 5
piece, "Worming" was released in 2008. A new
single "Scoliosis" was released on 9.09.09 to
proceed a forth-coming album, their first!
