The Big Way is an acoustic trio with a fiery temperament, consisting of saxophonist Matthew “Rev” Gooden, drummer Brad Webb, and bassist Trey Boudreaux. The three came together in New Orleans, Louisiana to create an aesthetically simple band that would allow an opportunity for spontaneous, creative musical conversation, and also preserve the integrity and identity of the song.

Determined to harness a bold, concise sound, they insisted on the intimate trio format without the use of a chord-based instrument. This configuration challenges each member to contribute equal musical output; it is also musically liberating, allowing each member to assume multiple roles within a song and extend the classic functions of their respective instruments.

The Big Way accepts influence from all things musical and (seemingly) non-musical; the one precondition is honesty. The sounds of this trio navigate many musical pathways, digging deep, dark grooves that yield to pulsing, lush soundscapes that take flight and tear through deep space with no signs of looking back.
