The Kite Return formed in the summer of 2006 in the basement of a bored drummer, out of the ashes of a failed attempt to produce indie rock ballads. Too stubborn to give up, a few of the members of the previous band decided to write catchier, more upbeat songs for a change, hoping to introduce an energetic style which would inspire the sluggish participants. Introducing a new lead guitarist and adding a poppy synthesizer was exactly the sort of inspiration needed.
