To our faithful listeners,

We've decided to formally shutdown thesixtyone.com -- our servers will go offline at midnight, May 1st 2017.

Artist tipping and music purchases will be functional until then, so please spend any remaining credits by month's end.
A final payment will be made to artists following the shutdown.

thesixtyone was our baby for most of our twenties. We're incredibly sorry we weren't able to keep things going in the
right direction.

2007-2017

Thank you for being a part of it.

Farewell,

We have been in the recording room of Jonathan Anderson(Buena Vista Audio) the past couple weeks and most of our work is complete. Just mixing left.

Very excited how some of the songs turned out and hope you enjoy them as well!

1 Christmas show coming up at Cafe Deux Soleils in Vancouver on the 18th of December. We will be playing with Kidnap Kids and Raise Your Kids Well.

Sincerely,

biography
Nathan Moes is the Magician. Making pop music, with a foot in the past, and an eye for the future, and a body resting in the present, usually upon a piano bench. Having released his debut EP in the Fall of 2008, Nathan has played consistently, claiming 3rd place in CITR 101.9's annual "Shindig" Battle of The Bands, and vetted as a local band to watch for by the Vancouver city beat blog beyondrobson.com.

The Gates of Love, one of the most technically proficient, perceptivelly feeling and generally agreeable bands in the greater Langley area have joined forces with The Magician, creating the live spectacle of The Magician & The Gates of Love. The Gates of Love are Conrad Dykman manning percussion, and the Brothers Koole, Andrew & Nick singing harmonies in ways that only family can, and playing trumpet and saxophone like so many others can. But maybe better.

Following their first tour to big sky Alberta, The Magician & The Gates of Love will be heading into the studio to record a few singles in preparation for a full - length LP of eternally hummable melodies.

Hey my hand told me here's good music. So I'm just checking!!! Welcome to T61. Don't get yourself in a hurry here, this is a very different music website! "Less is more", remember of this, so wait at least 1 week between new uploads and do not upload more than one at once, ok? :)

Really great stuff!

Hey, Nathan-These are fantastic songs, but silentK is right about this site-it is much better for your music to be released in packets separated by a week or so. Since the listeners here get a certain number of votes each day, too many songs means that they compete with each other for "hearts" which are essentially votes. If a song gets a bunch of votes, it heads to the homepage and gathers even more listeners...read the article and trust us, your music will get a wider audience if you wait.

Please just let these songs gather some bumps first. I'd wait at least a week before you up load any more songs. And then I'd only upload one at a time. You'll get the hang of this page - but it's different than most. Listeners only have a very limited number of hearts a day. so if you up load to many songs at once, they will compete with each other.

Hello sixtyone community, I will upload the rest of our debut EP tomorrow. A three song upload per day limit has got me down today.
